Annotations allow you to capture and share insights from your analysis with your team.
As you discover more about your data, you may want to add an annotation for yourself or your colleagues about findings, next steps, or any additional business context that helps explain certain patterns of behavior. In the Segmentation tool you can choose any point on the chart to add an annotation. Annotations are typically used to mark:
- The beginning or end of a campaign
- Interesting trends in your analysis
- Unexpected events, such as data outages, that add flavor to your analysis
For example, if there is a clear user drop-off on your chart, you may want to create an annotation on that data point as a reminder for yourself or as a call to action for a colleague to investigate. For more information about annotations, see Understand Annotations.
